The tinyguides story

There is simply something that happens to you when you have a child.  Sure, all the clichés are true – your priorities change, your commitment to the happiness of your child is stronger than you can imagine – but it is really more than that.  You enter a world where milestones matter; where the sight of a child realizing that he, himself can put on his own sock is a wondrous and magical encounter.  You watch in delight as you see your toddler, for the first time, approach the teacher in your baby class and offer to help clean up.  This recognition that every milestone your child meets is an accomplishment bigger than life is one that perhaps you didn’t expect, but takes you by surprise with its power.

Nicole Sachs and Marcy Sinel were able to share in this deep appreciation of developmental milestones after giving birth to their daughters, Chloe and Isabella.  As they observed their babies interacting with their worlds, they realized that each milestone the girls tackled would bring endless challenge and ultimately joy as the wobbly passage to success was won.  As Nicole and Marcy moved along their journey into motherhood, one factor kept coming up again and again – their daughters learned the most with the most confidence from watching other children succeed, or try, or even falter.  They watched in baby classes and playgroups, as their children and others seemed to be absolutely fascinated by the sight of each other, and in this fascination so much leaning was taking place.

Having come from the worlds of business and child development, Marcy and Nicole began to see the triumph in successful milestone achievement as more than just wondrous to watch.  They wanted to be a part of creating a way for kids to actually learn from each other in a positive way so that each milestone might be a little easier to tackle, with less natural fear that comes with uncertainly.  Therein, tinyguides was born.  Coupling strong educational content with real kids guiding and showing their countless friends the many ways a childhood challenge can be tackled; tinyguides brings children closer to their worlds.

As for Marcy and Nicole, they’re still learning, and excited to infuse tinyguides with everything they discover along the way.  After all, Chloe and Isabella are barely out of diapers.  And their moms both recently welcomed new arrivals to the family – boys this time!
